    Job Description

    Under general supervision of the BHS CalAIM Documentation Initiative Training Officer, the Junior Management Assistant, performs general administrative and/or management functions with rotating assignments. Examples of important and essential duties:

    • Support the development and implementation of training plans including timelines, learning objectives, training methods, before-after training evaluation materials, etc
    • Support training registration and other logistics
    • Prepares agenda items, attends department meetings, and/or makes presentations at various types of meetings. May assist in scheduling of some of those meetings.
    • Gathers, compiles, analyze data and prepares reports using database programs, spreadsheets, various word processing applications.
    • Assists in the analyses of plans, monitor training participants' satisfaction, other outcomes and reviewing related information either manually and/or electronically, reviewing documentation, prioritizes tasks and guidelines in order to accurately relay information to department supervisors.
    • Coordinate the distribution of marketing materials.

    Positions in Class 1840 Junior Management Assistant may perform other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION (REQUIRED): EDUCATION: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, accounting, finance, economics, social sciences, education, or related field, or other areas closely related to specific department program or function. Substitution: May substitute up to two (2) years of the required education with additional qualifying experience in program/office/operations management, budget development and/or administration, or contract/grant administration. One year (2000 hours) of additional qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester units/45 quarter units.

    Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment: ability to stand for a prolonged period of time, drive to various training sites, use various computer software and equipment, and lift and move up to 25 pounds.

    • Lived experience* with the diverse communities served at DPH, including Black/African American, Native American, Asians/Pacific Islander, Latina/o/e/x, LGBTQI+, recent immigrants, individuals with various socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and physical and mental health needs.
    • Ability to organize, collaborate and develop working relationships with diverse staff, communities, and organizations. Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills. 
    • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills. 
    • Experience coordinating trainings or other learning events.
