This position has an anticipated duration of no more than three (3) years and will not result in an eligible list or permanent civil service hiring. The San Francisco Department of Public Health IT Division, in collaboration with the Department of Human resources, developed the Information Systems Trainee Program. This new program provides a unique opportunity to join a cohort of highly motivated, analytical and innovative individuals who will develop professional competence as entry level IS employees for the City and County of San Francisco. Under supervision, this position will assist the DPH IT in the development and coordination of the IT Training Program with the goal of producing entry-level IT staff through classroom training and experiential learning. This position must exercise judgment in selecting and applying established policies and procedures, and in determining when to escalate issues to their supervisor. The ideal candidate must also have the ability to prioritize work and follow general instructions provided by the supervisor. The Junior Management Assistant uses a variety of computer software and systems to perform duties. This position may also supervise and evaluate clerical and technical support staff. Important and Essential Duties: * Communicate and meet with stakeholders to recognize needs from the training program * Conduct outreach to involve and forge relationships with the organization and community * Research and coordinate training opportunities and assignments for trainees * Research and provide wellness and educational resources for trainees * Create, maintain and update trainee contract * Facilitate community and team building among trainees * Organize on-boarding orientation with administrative/operations support * Organize training schedule with administrative/operations support * Create and organize mid-term evaluation procedures for trainees * Coordinate procurement of supplies and equipment * Track program budget

    • Create, document and maintain program manual including policies and procedures as it pertains to the 1010 IS Trainee Program. The Junior Management Assistant also performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, accounting, finance, economics, social sciences, education, or related field, or other areas closely related to the Department's program or function. Substitution: May substitute up to two (2) years of the required education with additional qualifying experience in program/office/operations management, budget development and/or administration, or contract/grant administration. One year (2000 hours) of additional qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester units/45 quarter units.
