    Job Description

    Under direction of the DPH Director of Security, the 7262 Maintenance Planner performs the following essential job functions, but is not limited to the following:

    • Assess existing space to determine feasibility of adding or changing devices, infrastructure requirements to support these changes, including power requirements, code compliance, and best practices for security and safety within a healthcare setting;
    • Provide consultation and recommendation for use of specific security devices including but not limited to cameras and surveillance equipment, door hardware, access control, alarms, emergency call boxes, duress buttons, security systems and management, etc. based on usage in a healthcare facility;
    • Conduct planning with contractors in terms of placement of infrastructure/ devices, installation of security systems and networks, and other building amenities related matters;
    • Request proposals from vendors, coordinate installations with vendors and facilities site director, and oversee installations;
    • Review design blueprint for future space use proposal, make recommendations that support the operation of a safe healthcare setting;
    • Take administrative direction from DPH Director of Security, while partnering with DPH Facilities leadership, Sheriff’s Department, and other DPH Leadership of different sites where the building systems, amenity infrastructure and security devices are being reviewed and/or addressed; and
    • Provide to DPH leadership for decision-making regarding security improvement, prioritization, feasibility to implement, costs and schedule, expected results, etc.

     

    The 7262 performs other related duties as assigned/required.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE: 

    1. Three (3) years of verifiable experience in one of the following areas:  A. as a maintenance estimator and/or scheduler or equivalent in facilities (building utilities, related structures and equipment) maintenance;  B. as a maintenance planner for construction or facilities/equipment maintenance; C. as a supervisor of journey level workers in a construction or facilities/equipment maintenance related field; OR  
    2. Four (4) years of verifiable journey level experience in a construction or facilities/equipment maintenance related field; OR  
    3. Completion of a minimum four (4) year Building and Trades certified apprenticeship program AND two (2) years journey level of experience in a construction or facilities/equipment maintenance (a copy of apprenticeship certificate must be submitted with application)

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS NOTES: For minimum qualifications #1, #2 and #3 listed above, the experience must include one (1) year using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) program.

    Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications by the filing deadline unless otherwise noted.

    One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2000 hours. (2000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week.) Any overtime hours that you work above forty (40) hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: The stated desirable qualifications may be used to identify job finalists at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.

    • Security and/or access control management experience in a healthcare facility

Note on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Some positions in the Department of Public Health will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to gloves, gowns, eye and face protection, and face-fitting respirators. The requirement for the use of PPE may come on short or no notice. Facial hair or any condition that interferes with a face-fitting respirator’s seal (i.e. comes between the sealing surfaces of the respirator and the wearer’s bare skin) is not permitted when face-fitting respirators are worn, including during initial or periodic respirator fit-testing. Employees who choose not to shave and do not have either American Disabilities Act (ADA) or Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Accommodations do not have the right to alternate work assignments or the option of using a loose-fitting Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) in place of a FaceFitting Respirator.
    5. Medical Examination/Drug Testing: Prior to appointment, at the Department's expense, applicants may be required to take a tuberculosis (TB) screening test, a medical examination and/or drug test.
