    Job Description

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    Under immediate supervision, and in the capacity of a trainee, individuals in this position learn to perform specialized duties relevant to the entry level of the target employment; learns the organization of the department to which assigned, its relationship to other city agencies and the range of services it provides; attends instructional or other training programs relating directly to the duty assignment; and learns to perform other related duties normally expected of the entry-level employee. Requires responsibility for following instructions, learning and adapting to existing policies and procedures, and maintaining simple records of work completed.

    This position requires good customer service skills and the ability to work with multiple groups or people simultaneously. It requires a willingness and ability to acquire the skills needed to perform the job well, including completing required training. This position also requires schedule flexibility and may require in-person work while wearing a mask.

    Specifically, this position has varied responsibilities depending on the greatest need for San Francisco’s response to COVID-19. Some of the possible options are listed below.

    Testing and Vaccine Support Staff

    This position will support the efforts of COVID-19 mitigation in San Francisco. This position will support the needs of mobile testing and vaccine events, including providing scheduling, greeting, line monitoring, or tracking of supplies. This position may include performing on-site registration for testing or vaccine appointments, distributing information, and monitoring queues of attendees for correct social distancing and masking protocols. In addition, this position may involve screening patients, including posing administrative questions for documentation purposes, and administering surveillance testing. This position may also include supporting event staff to set up and take down event-related equipment such as tables, chairs, and tents. Spanish, Cantonese, or other language fluency are highly desirable.

    Logistics/Warehouse Support Staff

    This position assists with organization and movement of COVID-19 supplies, including testing kits, vaccine, personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies, and other materials needed for COVID-19 mitigation in San Francisco. This position may perform inventory checks in warehouses, organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness, and package requested supplies as needed. The position may also operate cargo vans and small cars and deliver requested supply orders to the requestor as required. The position requires on-site work; ability to lift 10 to 30 pounds of materials; a valid driver's license, and operation of a city vehicle.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or High School Proficiency Examination).

    Compensation: $20+/Hour

    Applications will be screened for relevant qualifying experience. Additional screening mechanisms may be implemented in order to determine candidates’ qualifications.
