Public Relations Assistant - SF Public Works- (1310)-(Exempt)
Job Description
Under general supervision, the Public Relations Assistant performs a variety of duties requiring a high level of responsibility; carries out complex tasks relative to the performance of Department Workforce Development Initiatives; assist with researching and analyzing data as it relates to operations of Public Works Workforce Development Programs. EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
WORKING CONDITIONS The nature of the work may require working in inclement weather conditions, around trash and refuse, will require working variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
Education: Requires possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public relations, journalism, English, mass communications, public administration, public policy or a related field.
License and Certification: California Driver's License
Substitution: Professional experience in public affairs, public information, editorial, newspaper, magazine, radio, television, public relations, social media, digital engagement, advertising or similar work involving collection and dissemination of news and information may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of 2 years). Thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.
