ABOUT THE POSITION
Fill Type: Permanent Exempt Salary Range: $110,110 - $133,874/year This recruitment will be filled through an exempt hiring process and the position will be appointed by the Executive Director as an at-will employee for a three-year limited term project.
Working under general direction of the Training and Outreach Manager, the Training Design Specialist will provide technology expertise and day to day support in the design and execution of a comprehensive new communication and training program that delivers cohesive and engaging learning content across a diverse range of audiences, organizations, settings, and platforms. Ethics@Work outreach and educational communications and materials will be developed for learning opportunities in both live and digital environments.
As with all positions at the Ethics Commission, the Ethics@Work Training Design Specialist must be willing to forego involvement in all local political activity while a member of the Commission staff. To support objectivity in the Commission’s work, this position is among those identified to file public Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) to ensure that any possible conflicts of interest between personal financial interests and governmental duties can be detected and avoided.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
These minimum qualifications establish the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification.
Possession of a bachelor’s degree required (Instructional Design, Communication Design, Instructional Technology preferred); AND
One (1) year of work experience using multimedia and graphic tools (e.g., Captivate, Articulate) in one or more of the following occupational areas: instructional design, curriculum development, instructional technology, or multimedia technology.
Substitution: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of 2 years). Thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.
