    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Under direction of Human Services Agency (HSA) Learning and Organizational Development, the 1232 Training Officer collaborates with the SF Benefits Net (SFBN) Eligibility Worker Induction Training team. This position will be responsible for leading a group of program specialists in conducting virtual class room management, administrative support, hands-on activities, troubleshooting, and task consultation based on the needs of the training environment while also working with a team of 1232 Training Officers to guide the Induction process.

    The length of an SFBN Induction Training is 5-6 months and the maximum training capacity is up to 20 inductees.  This additional resource will provide the Agency with more capacity to address the current 2905 vacancies and plan for future staffing/training needs.  If successful, HSA may seek to request permanent staffing resources.

    The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:  

    1. Organizing and preparing written material for use in various formats including hard copy memos, manuals, and reports, interactive online resources, and presentation media.

    2. Determining training needs, developing and evaluating training courses; coordinate and conduct a variety of training programs and maintain curriculum and training modules to reflect current laws, rules and regulations.

    3. Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs, facilitating events, and seminars, and writing various reports.

    4. Assessing individual, team, and organizational learning needs by analyzing information obtained from assessment tools, interviews, reports, complaints, other documents and/or consultations

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND

    2. Two (2) years of verifiable experience designing, organizing, and conducting employee training programs.

    SUBSTITUTION

    1.      Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Thirty (30) semester units/forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year of experience. OR

    2.     Possession of a Master of Arts degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience. OR

    3.     Verifiable experience in teaching adults and developing lesson plans may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

    Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment: ability to stand for a prolonged period of time, drive to various training sites, use various computer software and equipment, and lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Facial hair or any condition that interferes with a face-fitting respirator’s seal (i.e. comes between the sealing surfaces of the respirator and the wearer’s bare skin) is not permitted when face-fitting respirators are worn, including during initial or periodic respirator fit-testing. Employees who choose not to shave and do not have either American Disabilities Act (ADA) or Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Accommodations do not have the right to alternate work assignments or the option of using a loose-fitting Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) in place of a face-fitting respirator.
