Job Description
We are currently seeking to fill a number of 1054 Principal IS Business Analyst positions across multiple teams within the IT Department – this includes positions with the OFFICE OF HEALTH EQUITY TEAM, and the MENTAL HEALTH SAN FRANCISCO (MHSF) Team. Under general direction, 1054 Principal IS Business Analysts provides direct ongoing supervision to other IS Business Analysts, or serves as the top technical authority for one or more related specialties, or provides technical leadership and direction and assume technical responsibility for the completion of major projects; performs or oversees all or most of the systems development life cycle and ongoing administration functions, including needs analysis, cost-benefit analysis, structured systems analysis and design, feasibility analysis, technology and software assessment, telecommunications needs analysis, project planning and management, system installation, implementation and testing, conversion to production status, technical and procedural documentation, user training, and post-implementation assessment and administration; direct and participate in complex studies.

Qualifications
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.
One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours of work experience (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40 hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours a week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.
The above minimum qualifications reflect special conditions associated with the position(s) to be filled. They may differ from the standard minimum qualifications associated with this class code.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The stated desirable qualifications listed below may be used to identify job finalists at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.

SELECTION PROCEDURES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE (WEIGHT: QUALIFYING): Applicants will be required to complete a Minimum Qualification Supplemental Questionnaire that will be emailed. Applicants will be required to respond to the MQSQ in the time frame indicated, and submit their answers as directed.
SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE (WEIGHT: 100%): Qualified candidates will be sent a Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) exam that must be completed by the set date. Candidates will be evaluated on their relative knowledge, skill and ability levels in job-related areas. A passing score must be achieved on the SQ in order to be placed/ranked on the Eligible List. Candidate responses on the Supplemental Questionnaire cannot be changed once submitted. Candidates will be placed in rank order according to their final score on the SQ.
The department may administer additional position-specific selection procedures to make final hiring decisions.
