    Job Description

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Under minimum direction, this position performs a variety of duties requiring a high level of responsibility; carries out complex tasks relative to the performance of management functions; researches and analyzes data; and may be responsible for supervising subordinates.

    This position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple groups or people simultaneously. It requires a willingness and ability to acquire the needed skills to perform the job well, including completing required training. This position also requires schedule flexibility and may require in-person work while wearing a mask.

    Specifically, this position has varied responsibilities depending on the greatest need for San Francisco’s response to COVID-19. Some of the possible options are listed below.

    Call Center Staff

    This position will support the COVID-19 Call Center, which provides information about COVID-19 resources, including what to do after a positive test or close contact, and where to receive a test or vaccine. This position schedules test and vaccine appointments over the phone as available and requested, and links callers to other available services. This position also may be required to answer incoming calls and initiate outgoing calls.

    Data and Administrative Support

    This position performs a variety of functions related to management of COVID-19 programs, including data tracking and compilation, data analysis, scheduling, taking meeting minutes, and general administration support. This position may track COVID-19 data related to cases, outbreaks, hospital rates, or populations most impacted by COVID-19. This position may be asked to support efforts to collect data and input into maps, charts, or reports. This position supports COVID-19 leadership in general administrative and analytical tasks.

    Public Outreach Staff

    This position will perform outreach and education to businesses, residents, and other members of the community. Content disseminated and communicated may include recent updates to local Health Orders, guidance and clarification on health requirements for businesses and workplaces, information about city COVID-19 mitigation sites like vaccine or testing locations, and other relevant COVID-19 information. This position will interact with members of the public on a regular basis; therefore, applicants should feel comfortable working with the public. This position may require a valid driver's license and operation of a city vehicle. 

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or High School Proficiency Examination); AND

    One (1) year of verifiable full-time paid or unpaid work experience.

    Substitution:

    One (1) year of college course work (30 semester units/45 quarter units) can be substituted for one (1) year of required work experience.

    NOTE: 

    Falsifying one’s education, training, or work experience or attempted deception on the application may result in disqualification for this and future job opportunities with the City and County of San Francisco. Applicants may be required to submit verification of qualifying education and experience at any point during the recruitment and selection process. Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirement by the final filing date unless otherwise noted.

    SPECIFIC INFORMATION REGARDING THIS RECRUITMENT:

    Compensation: $24.775 Hourly/$51,532 Annually 

    Applications will be screened for relevant qualifying experience. Additional screening mechanisms may be implemented in order to determine candidates’ qualifications. Only those applicants who most closely meet the needs of the Agency will be invited to participate in the selection process. Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement in the selection process.
