Environmental Education Intern Salary $11.00 Hourly Location Boise, ID Job Type Temporary Department Boise WaterShed Job Number 04803 Closing 12/21/2018 5:00 PM Mountain Summary Statement The Boise WaterShed Environmental Education Center is a water education center located at the West Boise Wastewater Treatment Facility that teaches people of all ages how to protect and conserve our resources using high-tech, hands-on exhibits. Intern will participate with Boise WaterShed Education staff in developing and refining various lessons for visiting students and general public. The majority of the internship will focus on teaching and leading the exhibit hall tours while making improvements in communication and program delivery. By the end of the internship students will have gained valuable environmental education experience and many connections in the teaching community. Essential Functions Develop and teach environmental education lessons Lead exhibit hall tours Improve program delivery Interact with students and public of all ages Requirements Intern must be a second year Education major (Elementary or Secondary), who has participated in the IDoTeach program or equivalent program. Ability to develop and teach lessons, and interact with students and public of all ages in a friendly and tactful manner; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
