  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The intern will support two ongoing studies. The first study is focused on recent development in neighborhood commercial zoning districts. The second study is a joint effort by PCPC and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission to develop a Philadelphia-specific trip generation model for estimating the transportation demands associated with new buildings.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    The intern will conduct field observations, conduct intercept surveys, participate in regular group discussions, and help identify successful zoning practices in peer cities.

    COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    The ideal candidate will have a basic familiarity with Philadelphia neighborhoods, and will be comfortable with talking to people and outdoor field work.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have had some coursework in urban design, zoning, and basic statistics, and experience with customer service or interaction with the public, such as retail or organizing work.
