Job Description
Philadelphia Water Department’s Office of Watersheds is looking for an intern to assist the Compliance Assurance Team. The main project assigned will be generating reports, executive summaries, GIS mapping, and program summary factsheets based on detailed analysis of implementation data from the Green City, Clean Waters program. Other skills will be to quantify risk factors and assisting in identifying trends that will be likely to continue throughout the remaining years of the program, including the use of GIS to analyze data and prepare maps for reporting needs. The Compliance Reporting Team is responsible for ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements associated with stormwater and watershed management in its MS4 and CSO NPDES permits. The primary objectives of the Compliance Reporting Team include permit negotiations, reporting permit compliance, and preparing required regulatory deliverable documents through metric tracking, program implementation, program development, collaboration, and process alignment. Primary responsibilities include:
A writing sample may be requested at the time of interviews, as written and graphical communication skills are a requirement of this position. The position reports to the Supervisor of the Compliance Reporting and Analysis group and works closely with other groups within the Wet Weather Compliance Unit, the Office of Watersheds, the Planning & Environmental Services division at PWD, and other GIS groups throughout the city of Philadelphia.

Hourly Rate: $17.66/HR
