    Job Description

    This is an entry-level, union-represented administrative/clerical position tasked with providing support to the Pretrial Services Department, specifically assigned to the Electronic Monitoring Unit. The selected candidate must be able to work varied and non-traditional shift assignments during weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Primary responsibilities will be data collection and input while assisting with interviewing contacts for an individual's court-ordered to Electronic Monitoring: processing and verifying residential information to be submitted to the Electronic Monitoring Field Unit. Document all contact information: utilizing Pretrial Case Management System (PTCMS), SharePoint, and Microsoft Excel.

    As with any entity within the First Judicial District, the Pretrial Services Department may be called upon to ensure the performance of essential duties or functions as deemed so by administrative and governing bodies, which may result in an individual being available to perform essential tasks during court closures and/or non-traditional hours.

    Essential Functions

    ** The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.**

    • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Electronic Monitoring Field Unit and Monitoring Center at the direction of an EM supervisor.
    • Interact with judges, attorneys, courtroom personnel, prison staff, and the public.
    • Interpret docket information to ascertain the validity of Electronic Monitoring Court Orders.
    • Perform data entry within the Pretrial Case Management System to compile information received and provided during the processing of Court Orders.
    • Perform data entry duties related to EM statistics involving daily operations.
    • Communicate information to and from the EM participant's contacts to ensure the release and installation of Electronic Monitoring equipment is complete without self-imposed delays.
    • Assist with the processing of Electronic Monitoring Alerts from the vendor database as needed.
    • Train newly hired Electronic Monitoring Center staff regarding the operation of the vendor database.
    • Assist in the performance of the Electronic Monitoring Center Legal III duties as needed.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by an administrative superior as needed.

    Performs related work as required.

    Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge and experience working in various computer programs and applications, including PARS, NCIC, and CPCMS
    • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges, attorneys, courtroom staff, Sheriff's personnel, and the public.
    • The ability to provide information clearly and concisely.
    • General knowledge of criminal procedures.
    • General knowledge of Windows, Microsoft, Excel, and SharePoint.
    • The ability to project a positive and professional image to the Bar and the public.

    Work-Life

    Working hours are 40 hours per week. This is a full-time, in person position with the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania.

    Qualifications

    1. High school diploma and four years of progressively responsible clerical experience processing civil procedure legal documents and instruments, one year of which shall have been at the Legal Clerk II level.

    OR

    1. Two years supervising a staff of clerical employees engaged in the processing of legal instruments and documents.
    2. After meeting the minimum standard requirements, successful completion of a panel review process.
    3. The ability to work varied hours and shift assignments. The position is deemed essential personnel and must be staffed at all times, including court closures, weekends, and holidays.
    4. Must successfully complete a criminal background investigation.
    5. The satisfactory completion of a six-month employee orientation period.
    6. The ability to perform the essential functions of the position in this class.

    Salary Range: $41,058 - $44,848
