    Job Description

    Philly Counts is looking for a Social Media Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating content for social media outlets and website. This role offers the intern the possibility to work with different communities and gain knowledge in community organizing.  

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Create content for social media platforms (text/graphic/video), ensuring brand consistency.
    • Identify and engage potential community influencers.
    • Repurpose content for social media.
    • Write articles for Philly Counts website.
    • Identify/flag interesting content related to the 2020 Census.

    COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Passion for writing.
    • Knowledge of social media channels. (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram.)
    • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or other graphic design software.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
    • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Experience working with people/strong interpersonal skills.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills.
    • Strong multitasking skills and follow-up.
    • Ability to work autonomously to reach goals.
    • Foreign language proficiency is preferred, but not required.
    • Candidates must be energetic, flexible, and convey a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Pursuing/Recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication or a related field.
    • 2+ years' experience in social media/marketing, preferably in the following areas: non-profit, government and/or public relations.
    • Ability to communicate and/or experience working with culturally and economically diverse populations.

    Additional Information

    Pay: $13.25
