    Job Description

    Reporting to the Communications Director, the Community Outreach Coordinator will support the planning and implementation of outreach strategies. This position is responsible for connecting the Register of Wills (ROW) office with people in the community to provide education on the resources available and processes required to transfer generational wealth. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Assist with the development and implementation of community outreach and engagement plans to reach vulnerable communities.
    • Attend community meetings and events to provide information about and promote Register of Wills and Orphan’s Court services.
    • Build relationships through one-on-one meetings with residents and community stakeholders; attend pertinent community events with the purpose of building rapport and educating audiences about the Register of Wills, Orphan’s Court, and its services.
    • Develop, promote, and maintain effective relations with key influencers and a variety of community organizations and partner agencies.
    • Collaborate and coordinate with community-based organizations, religious institutions, and key stakeholders to educate and provide resources as it relates to the Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphan’s Court.
    • Meet engagement and outreach metrics.
    • Recruit and manage volunteers for projects.
    • Perform general outreach to community such as canvassing, and promotion of educational materials.
    • Create and facilitate virtual educational opportunities for the community.
    • Event coordination including all logistics, communication, and related materials.
    • Provide support and leadership for special events.
    • Additional duties may be required.  Management reserves the right to assign or reassign essential functions and responsibilities to this job at any time.

    • Ability to work with all levels of staff, inside and outside the Register of Wills and Orphan’s Court.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising a high degree of initiative to accomplish tasks and solve problems.
    • Awareness and understanding of the challenges vulnerable populations face.
    • Awareness of the diverse cultures amongst the residents of Philadelphia.
    • Ability to communicate with diverse groups.
    • Values and encourages diversity of thought, background, and perspective.
    • Fluency in MS Office software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to prioritize and follow up while meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire others.
    • Experience organizing community events with excellent attention to detail.
    • Experience meeting performance measures and reporting on progress.
    • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
    • Highly professional demeanor.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Bilingual or multilingual in (Languages needed: French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish) Preferred

    WORK-LIFE

    Working hours are generally 37.5 hours per week, in-office, with some flex depending on event schedules.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or G.E.D required.
    • 3-5 years’ related experience. with community outreach in diverse communities and implementing a community engagement strategy.
    • Must be flexible and willing to travel (citywide).
    • Valid driver license and reliable transportation required.
    • Computer skills are essential.
