  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The student employee will provide technical assistance on projects related to energy efficiency and resource recovery at drinking water and wastewater pollution control plants and will be responsible for the performance of various tasks, which may include:

    • Assisting with ongoing performance monitoring and analysis of renewable energy generation projects including a biogas cogeneration system and solar array.
    • Monitoring energy use and cost data for PWD facilities, generating reports and communication materials on energy use and cost data for PWD stakeholders
    • Performing analyses on department carbon emissions trends and assisting with a greenhouse gas inventory.
    • Support energy and sustainability objectives of capital projects by participating in meetings, reviewing documents, providing supporting energy data analyses.
    • Analyzing and communicating key energy-related performance metrics at PWD facilities using Excel and other reporting and presentation tools.
    • Supporting the implementation of strategic energy initiatives by conducting research and completing written communications on findings.
    • Attendance and participation at meetings, documenting meeting minutes, communicating project statuses, and responding to information requests.

    COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Knowledge of excel, databases, analyzing large datasets, strong technical writing and communication skills, presentation development, interest in alternative energy, sustainability, energy efficiency.

    • Chemical Engineering

    Additional Information

    Hourly rate: $17.66/HR
