    Job Description

    The Philadelphia City Planning Commission needs support for a Summer 2022 Transportation Planner intern position. The selected intern will work within the Policy and Analysis division to help identify, map, and analyze recommendations for improvements to the bicycle, pedestrian, transit, and/or roadway network.  Interns will explore opportunities for multimodal network enhancement.  Through participation in departmental meetings and workshops, the selected candidate will see why Philadelphia is a leading large US city for transit, bicycle and pedestrian commute mode share. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    The ideal candidate can demonstrate previous experience with US Census data and has taken at least one GIS training or class.  The selected candidate(s) will be exposed to active transportation planning principles and advanced GIS analytic techniques.

    COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    ArcGIS, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite

    Qualifications

    This position is ideal for a Master’s in City Planning candidate with strong research, organization, and quantitative skills. 4th year undergraduates with exceptional skills will be considered.
