PWD GSI Implementation Summer Internship - 139
Job Description
The candidate selected will provide support to engineers, landscape architects, city planners, and scientists in the GSI Unit. Typical tasks and responsibilities are varied and may include project management support, budget and schedule tracking, writing or proofreading guidance and manuals, checking engineering cost estimates and calculations, reviewing design drawings at different phases prepared by consultants in AutoCAD, communicating with construction inspectors, documenting GSI projects in active construction, data entry/analysis/visualization, and research into new engineering materials and techniques.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This internship position will provide you with the opportunity to:
• Gain first-hand experience in implementing a billion-dollar sustainable engineering initiative from conception to completion
• Gain exposure to many different groups at PWD, including GSI Planning, Compliance Assurance, Environmental Restoration, Construction, Maintenance, and Monitoring
• Help improve the quality of rivers and streams and create green spaces in the City of Philadelphia
• Work collaboratively with dedicated professionals and other student employees
• Grow your technical understanding of engineering and design principles to enhance your future career.

Preferred Majors –
Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Environmental Science, Geosciences
WORK-LIFE
This is a full-time summer internship position, with the possibility of being extended. Schedules will be determined during the interview process, candidates can work up to 37.5 hrs a week. The position may require candidates to work hybrid schedules, which means in-person and remote workdays.
Qualifications
Experience in the areas below is a plus
Must be an active college student to work as an intern for PWD.

Hourly Range: $18 - $20
