  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Assist PWD Engineer(s) in fieldwork, research, and projects, and expedite routine office tasks. The fieldwork includes checking process equipment (pumps, valves, meters, bar screens, tank levels, flow rates, etc.) integral to plant operations. Collecting data from in-situ meters at various points throughout the plant. Assist the engineer in coordinating procedures for shutdowns related to maintenance, construction, or other issues. Office work includes filing daily, weekly, and monthly data reports. Prepare and enter plant operations data for plant database, assist plant engineer in the collection of data and performing research studies for plant processes, assist in preparing analytical and statistical reports evaluating data, assist in troubleshooting process issues, and assist in performing any other jobs as assigned by the plant engineer.

    Additionally:

    • Opportunities to learn about and assist in managing the biological processes of the treatment process.
    • Help Process Engineers with Nitrification/Denitrification studies,
    • Collect samples and perform laboratory analysis using a range of techniques and equipment including but not limited to: Hach DR3900, YSI 6050020 Pro20data, YSI ProDSS, and Compound Microscope
    • Analyze and prepare process data using Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access
    • Prepare presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
    • Updating the process flow diagram, organization chart, and filing log sheets.
    • Performing research, locating engineering drawings from the library, and filing.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Valid PA Driver's License and proof of Covid19 vaccine required

    Required:

    • Interpersonal and Occupational Skills such as communication, attitude, and attendance
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

    Desired:

    • Familiarity with the wastewater treatment process
    • Understanding of water and environmental chemistry
