    Job Description

    The Associate Business Analyst reports to the Enterprise & Governance PMO Operations Manager. This role supports functions that drive the success of the technology and services related to various business processes that align with the City’s technological strategic priorities and future-state agile, digital city experience. Working primarily with Enterprise & Governance Project Managers and more senior Business Analysts, the Associate Business Analyst learns to collaborate with cross-functional technology teams and business process stakeholders, executing supportive tasks on technology related business process initiatives from requirements through implementation, assessment, testing, and continuous enhancement.  As a member of the Enterprise and Governance PMO, the Associate Business Analyst is expected to uphold the organization’s mission and contribute positively to a collaborative, human-centered, innovative, accountable, transparent, and inclusive culture within the Enterprise and Governance PMO.

    Essential Functions Business Process Discovery and Management •    Assist with requirements gathering (including interviewing users, analyzing work processes and operations, establishing solution objectives, and evaluating systems functionality) to uncover insights about various business processes and opportunities to improve existing services and explore new ones. •    Work closely with development and support teams during business process related projects, including writing use cases and assisting in prioritization of features and functionality for systems. •    Research and investigate the use of existing and emerging technologies to support or enhance IT operations and/or work. •    Perform testing of enhancements and record feedback.  •    Ability to determine when to apply Project Management principles.  •    Contribute to Project and Portfolio Management. •    Responsible for supporting ongoing maintenance of existing reports and new report development. •    Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas. Relationship Management •    Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with customers and central OIT areas related to specific business processes being managed and serve as primary point of contact for IT coordination of services, communication, and planning around those business processes. •    Gain an in-depth understanding of OIT’s processes and requirements. •    Monitor, evaluate, and regularly report to Enterprise & Governance PMO leadership on business process-related IT projects, services, and support.

    Salary Not to Exceed: $60,000
