    Job Description

    The Comprehensive Planning Team is seeking two full-time, summer interns. Primary tasks will relate to the update to the city's comprehensive plan including research, planning analysis projects and related tasks.  Secondary tasks will be related to Registered Community Organizations and the annual registration. This is a hybrid work opportunity (both in office and remote work).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • General research on various topics, including demographics, transportation and best practices
    • Creating maps and graphics for plan documents
    • Assisting in the preparation of materials for public meetings
    • Performing general project administration duties, such as photography and other field work
    • Perform administrative tasks related to Registered Community Organizations

    COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Strong skills in research and writing
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS
    • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute in a variety of ways
    • Ability to work independently

    WORK-LIFE

    Working hours are generally 35 hours per week. Our team is currently hybrid with both virtual and in-office days, however there are remote options available.

    Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program in City Planning, Public Administration, Political Science, or related field

    Hourly Rate: $15/hour
