Legal Assistant - Health and Adult Services Unit
Job Description
Legal Assistants assist the attorneys in this unit with the legal tasks related to those City departments. In addition to other duties, Legal Assistants in the Health and Adult Services unit play a major role in handling cases related to lead abatement in homes throughout the City of Philadelphia and assist with preparing cases for Mental Health court.

Work-Life
The Law Department supports a robust work-life balance. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Our team is currently hybrid with both virtual and in-office days. The in-office requirement is 15 hours per week – essentially two days – or as otherwise needed, based on business needs, such as in-person hearings or client meetings. Staff can opt to come into the office each day if desired.
Qualifications
Preferred candidate will possess an Associate’s degree, paralegal certificate or equivalent and have experience preferably in a legal setting.
