Job Description
A co-op position in MAS would involve the analysis of microplastics in streams and drinking water. Samples will be collected and processed using established techniques, followed by microscopy and infrared analysis. Any opportunity will be available to create a research project to study a certain aspect of microplastics. The position will be under the guidance of two senior scientists. The position may also involve assisting other chemists in talking about microplastics at schools. There will be opportunities to work on other projects.

Applicants are required to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student
- Valid US driver’s license preferred, though a personal vehicle is not required.
- The employee must show a willingness to learn new things, go in the field to collect samples, and work independently in the lab. The position is full-time with most of the work in the office and laboratory.

This full-time co-op position, schedules will be determined during the interview. The position may require candidates to work hybrid schedules, which means in-person and remote workdays.
