Job Description

Under general direction, is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of comprehensive air service and route development strategies designed to promote increase utilization of the airport for passenger travel and cargo air service at the San Antonio International Airport.  Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.  May exercise supervision over assigned staff. WORK LOCATION:  San Antonio International Airport, 9800 Airport Blvd. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assists in development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies and programs related to the expansion of passenger air service, cargo air service and carrier/route expansion.
• Identify potential new markets and develop cohesive, targeted business cases to present to airline network planners.
• Conducts research and analytical studies on a variety of air service and cargo business problems and issues.
• Assists in identifying and targeting domestic and international airlines as potential customers through research and communication.
• Prepares presentations customized to meet the needs of a specific carrier or audience.
• Identify geographical areas of greatest passenger potential and compile analytics to support future growth opportunities.
• Assists in coordinating business and community activities to build support for air service and route development.
• Establish and foster communication/outreach opportunities to reach key motivators, partners and stakeholders.
• Participates in service outreach programs for potential carriers in the Authority's air service and cargo development program.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with key contacts, including airline executives, trade offices, and representatives of economic development agencies, business and community organizations.
• Continuously evaluate forecasted needs against existing assets and make recommendations for capital improvement projects.
• Maintains and supports a high level of customer service to peers, partners and passengers.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.  A Master's Degree is highly desirable. Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal government, business, or a related field.
• Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Records check upon employment.
• Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Four (4) years of professional experience in management, analysis, or air service development.
