Supports Pre-K 4 SA teaching staff with preparation of materials, daily activities, and daily growth and development of students. Coordinates the loading and unloading of students on and off the bus at transportation sites. Ensures the safety of students under care and in compliance with Child Care Licensing standards. This is a temporary position which will be utilized in the classroom on an as-needed basis. Exercises no supervision. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist with implementation of early age curriculum in the classroom. Assists in planning and preparing learning environment and preparing needed materials and supplies, which includes maintaining a clean and organized classroom. Observes student's progress and communicates with other educators. Prepares, adapts and delivers instructional material to students in groups and individually. Assists in creating and maintaining student records and prepares reports relative to student performance, attendance, meals, safety, licensing standards, etc. Assists in maintaining discipline, supervision of students, and uses positive guidance skills appropriate for young children. Assists in maintaining order in classroom; monitors students to keep them engaged in developmentally appropriate activities. Monitors and assists in maintaining order at transportation sites, in the classroom, motor skills room, playground, cafeteria, hallways, and other areas. Builds relationships with students to create a positive, safe, and welcoming school culture. Maintains open communication with parents. May assist students while loading, riding and unloading buses. Assists with fastening appropriate child safety restraint system and follows all safety routines and procedures for transportation.
