POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Paint Team Leader, this entry-level position will paint structural steel, pipe, valves, and other component parts used for our can line systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Paint structural steel, pipe, valves, and other component parts used for our can line systems.
• Prepare paint and ensure proper mixing for customer requirements.
• Responsible for painting mil thickness according to company procedure.
• Responsible for maintaining and cleaning paint guns and equipment.
• Regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.
• Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to effectively perform position of Paint Prepper on the floor at any point in time.

            Prep materials by high pressure wash or blast materials.

            Load and unload paint booth with materials.

            Stage material for curing.

• Provide personal tools according to the department tool list.
• Perform set-up, material handling duties, and minor general maintenance.
• Responsible for area housekeeping.
• Participate in the processes of continuous improvement including efforts to meet company smart goals.
• Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures. Potential exposure to jobsites both domestically and internationally; living accommodations in some foreign assignments may not meet expected U.S. standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.   While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, lift, push, pull, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required. Must be able to stand/walk 90% of the time and sit 10% of the time.

This position requires the ability to wear a full face respirator and air supplied hood. A medical respirator clearance and pulmonary function test must be obtained and a valid fit test performed with positive results. A protective suit is required to worn. This position also requires enrollment and testing in the Hearing Conservation Program.

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is strongly preferred.
• Zero (0) to one (1) year of industrial painting experience is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to use and read a wet and dry mil gauge.
• Strong problem solving skills are required.High level of energy and motivation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including, but not limited to, frequent and mandatory overtime, weekends, and some holidays are required.
• Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.

Required Skills Required Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, IT business/Computer Science and/or Engineering (CPA preferred, but not mandatory)
• Oracle NetSuite Financials and OneWorld functional expert, with certifications in: Netsuite Certified Financial User, Netsuite Certified ERP Consultant
• Completed multiple Netsuite implementations, with specialization in finance
• Preferably with 3 to 5 years of work experience
