Description of Job The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) provides services used by nearly every citizen of the State. Colorado citizens utilize identification, driver, and vehicle services at State and County offices to obtain identification cards, driver licenses, vehicle registrations, titles, and other related services. Additionally, the DMV licenses and provides oversight of private businesses and government organizations that provide driver and emission testing services. Finally, the division works closely with other state agencies and programs to provide information and education to serve the public and encourage voluntary compliance. DUTIES : Delivers certification training DLF & BOST (DL Fundamental & Basic Operator Skill Test) to State and County Driver's License Offices employees (our Technician positions). This includes administering both written and practical knowledge and skills assessments in Driver License Offices throughout the assigned region. Duties include, but are not limited to: BOST & DLF training program delivery Administering written and practical BOST & DLF training assessments Certification assessment at the completion of BOST & DLF training programs Auditing Driver License Office employee "on-the-job" as employees issue driver licenses and identity documents and administer driving tests, etc. Administering "Refresher" training; and related assessments Training program materials updates as needed, in conjunction with Training Specialist and Regional Manager (as needed based on status revisions or policy changes Region Training Plan development as needed, in conjunction with Training Specialist IV and Regional Manager Training-day logistics, such as assembling training materials and supplies, checking equipment, registering attendees and distributing, administering, collecting, and scoring evaluation forms and assessments. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment. AND Two years of professional experience delivering business systems training to Adult Learners. Substitutions Additional professional experience delivering business systems training to Adult Learners will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Additional years of education in a field of study related to the work assignment will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will possess the following: 2 or more years of experience developing and/or delivering training presentations to adult learners 2 or more years Driver License Office Technician experience within a state or county Driver License Office 1-2 years working in a regulatory environment in which laws, rules, and regulations put into place by federal, state or other government entities and civilian organizations are used to monitor the behavior and actions of business activities in the public interest. Examples include a driver license office, motor vehicle investigation unit, a technical customer service support desk or call center, Group presentation and management experience Experience using audio/visual equipment and materials Intermediate to advanced PowerPoint skills Necessary Special Requirements The qualified applicant will possess the following additional special qualifications: Successfully completed and passed required Driver License Fundamental (DLF) training & certification; or successful completion of Driver License Fundamental (DLF) training and certification within the first year in position.
