The Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs division of OEDIT is seeking a Communications Intern to help promote the Colorado Story to drive awareness and relevance of OEDIT's recruitment, support and retention of companies and business. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: How to create/implement a content marketing calendar. How to create compelling content that will be shared by influencers. How to use WordPress (website content management system). How to conduct interviews with C-level professionals. How to use Meltwater PR database. How to set up Google alerts and search for press clippings. Relationship building with OEDIT's various divisions and programs. The ideal candidate is an undergraduate senior or graduate student in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, or digital communications. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, organized and creative, possess a professional work ethic and be enthusiastic to gain new knowledge. Description of Job OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with Success Stories for ChooseColorado.com Conduct research of Colorado companies for success stories Conduct interviews of company representatives for success stories Write and/or edit success stories Post success stories to website Share / promote on social media Assist with ChooseColorado.com Blog series Conduct research for blogs Write and/or edit blogs Post blogs to website Share / promote on social media Assist with Press Releases Conduct research for press releases Conduct interviews, if necessary, for press release Write and/or edit press release Post press release to website Share / promote on social media Assist with following-up with members of the media to track and ensure placement Add press clips to "News Section" of ChooseColorado.com Provide Copywriting / Editing Assistance Draft basic public relations materials including, news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, appeal letters, and other materials as directed Assist in planning, writing and editing monthly eNewsletters Assist with proofing written materials for style, grammar, etc. Prepare impact reports Use Meltwater to generate reports Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate is an undergraduate senior or graduate student in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, or digital communications.
