Seasonal LIHEAP Clerk 2s interact with the public on a daily basis, and they provide clerical support that is vital to the process of administering life-sustaining public benefits. LIHEAP seasonal staff typically work October through April each year. DESCRIPTION OF WORK You will perform a variety of tasks related to processing incoming applications for the Philadelphia CAO LIHEAP. This involves regular face-to-face interaction with applicants and district staff, as well as processing incoming paper and electronic applications. Clerk 2s regularly provide guidance to the public about how to apply for LIHEAP benefits in person and over the phone. They perform office functions such as scanning/indexing, delivering documents, and data entry. They may also be responsible for tasks such as sorting and processing incoming and outgoing mail and maintaining documents and files. Work may include light labor such as delivering or storing office supplies. The work is performed in a standard office environment. On-the-job training is provided. The worksite is accessible by public transit. Valuable experience includes customer service and office work. Basic computer skills are vital as most of the work is processed using desktop computers. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY * Must meet PA residency requirement * Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; OR completion of high school business curriculum; OR any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities. * Must be able to perform essential job functions Veterans: Pennsylvania law (51 Pa.
