Description of Job Duties Provides inspections of single and double-wide mobile homes, add a rooms, office units, cabanas, recreation vehicles, motor homes, etc. Inspects manufactured units to determine if units are manufactured according to federal and state codes in areas of structural assembly, plumbing, heating, electrical and fire and life safety. Inspects dealer locations for compliance with state and federal regulations, Checks manufactured housing installations; investigates consumer complaints relating to manufactured housing. Prepares technical reports of mobile and manufactured homes as well as recreational vehicles in the south/eastern territory of the Commonwealth. Inspects facilities under construction using approved plans to ensure compliance with applicable building codes. This position covers 21 counties. Work counties consist of: Clark, Montgomery, Powell, Menifee, Lee, Wolfe, Morgan, Elliott, Lawrence, Johnson, Magoffin, Breathitt, Owsley, Leslie, Perry, Knot, Floyd, Martin, Pike, Letcher and Harlan. Job Group : PERSONAL SAFETY AND BUILDING INSPECTION Typical Working Conditions : Frequent travel is required to peform inspections. Unique Physical Requirements : Must be able to bend, crawl, stoop and climb to perform inspections. Additional Requirements : Upon appointment, employees in this class may be required to maintain a valid driver's license and required to drive a licensed vehicle.
