Manages and oversees activities of engineering projects and/or programs. Reviews and approves engineering documents as a Licensed Professional Engineer; and performs other duties as required. Minimum Requirement - Education : See Special Requirements. Minimum Requirement - Experience : Must have two years of engineering experience in addition to that required for licensure. Substitute Education for Experience : Master's degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience. Graduate work in engineering beyond a master's degree will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Description of Job Duties Assists districts throughout the state with the review of drainage folders and with other hydrologic and hydraulic drainage designs in accordance with Department policies, procedures and standards with federal rules, regulations and standards. Makes professional recommendations concerning the planning or design of drainage related transportation facilities and related work. Evaluates current process, procedures and makes recommendations for improvements. Evaluates new technology and procedures in the Highway Design area. Provides technical assistance to Central Office and District Office personnel. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director and State Highway Engineer's office. Job Group : ENGINEERING AND GEOLOGICAL Typical Working Conditions : Work is performed in the office and in the field. Will be exposed to risks inherent to construction sites.
