Job Description: You will work on a range of strategic design projects, within the consumer and medical space, that leverage brand DNA, and identify new product opportunities. With a clear understanding of stakeholders, brands, trends, and market dynamics, you will create elegant, tangible product experience solutions in a range of industries that connect the dots. People who fit this role should be able to: * Lean into consumer research, analysis and reframing, listening to users to let their needs guide you to elegant solutions * Ability to envision abstract concepts and ideas and explain how they connect to stakeholders, and why they are important to design from sketching to prototyping * Solve complex, large scale problems flexing seamlessly between both the consumer and medical spaces, all while being comfortable with ambiguity. * Ability to manipulate design elements within a product that carries the intended meaning to consumers * A strong ability to communicate and articulate your ideas and rationale while working in small, multi-disciplinary teams. * Sensitivity to construction and manufacturing dynamics The Requirements & Fine Print: * Junior, senior or recent graduate of an Industrial Design or Product Design Program * Excellent sketching skills (digital and physical) * 3D modeling and surfacing craftsmanship. Proficiency in 3D modeling packages (Solidworks) and 3D rendering programs (Keyshot and V-Ray) * Proficiency in 2D packages (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) * Iterative model making and prototyping by hand, using 3D printers, and CNC machining * Ability to manage challenging and often open-ended problems, work autonomously and multi-task in an agile environment * Excellent communication skills: visual, verbal and written * Passionate Human-Centered Design advocate. * Experience in UX (digital) design is a plus * Proven teamwork co-creation * Fluency in English (foreign languages a plus) Online Application Process: In addition to a resume and cover letter, please provide an example of your work; a portfolio showing sample projects, or a portfolio website.
