Land Use Services is recruiting for Land Use Services Planner III positions who are responsible for a wide range of duties in urban and rural land use applications and studies. Duties include the Current Planning processing of development applications; research and review of technical reports, maps and plans and could include Advance Planning work related to the General Plan or special projects. Land Use Services Planner III also serves as a project leader. The resulting list may be used to fill other vacancies as they occur throughout the County. Minimum Requirements Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Engineering or a related field is required. --AND-- Experience: Three (3) years of professional level environmental planning experience involving comprehensive environmental planning and site design. Substitution: A Master's degree in one of the required fields of education may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of land use planning and environmental analysis, with strong experience with a California public agency. Strong writing, critical thinking, and decision-making skills are essential.
