    Contract Workforce Development Specialist Salary $41,475.20 - $57,075.20 Annually Location Throughout San Bernardino County, CA Job Type Full-time Department Workforce Development Department (EDA) Job Number 18-23198CON-02 Closing Continuous The Job The Workforce Development Department is recruiting for a Contract Workforce Development Specialist to work directly with program participants in the County's Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program assessing employability, providing services needed to obtain employment, and monitoring individual programs compliance. This position will work with teachers in the K-12 system developing work based learning opportunities for students in career pathways. Duties for this position may include meeting with teachers, students and businesses; developing and presenting information about career pathways and work based learning; developing outcome tracking for youth participating in the programs; developing outreach materials for teachers, students and businesses; and facilitating meetings as needed. All Workforce Development Department staff must be available for workshop and outstation assignments as necessary. Note: This recruitment is for a contract position only. Contract positions do not obtain regular status. Candidates with bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are encouraged to apply. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Background: Applicant must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment. Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required; a valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in business/public administration, education, human/behavioral/social science, or other relevant field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application if a degree (as above) has not been conferred. --- AND --- EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of (full-time equivalent) experience engaged in employment search, facilitation and case management activities in one of the following client-based programs: Workforce Investment/Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), CalWORKs Employment Services, Department of Labor Welfare-to-Work Grant Services, or similar government or non-profit agency. Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree along with three years of case management experience working with clients enrolled in WIOA programs, as well as excellent time management and public speaking skills.
