Ecological Resource Specialist Salary $54,246.40 - $74,568.00 Annually Location Throughout San Bernardino County, CA Job Type Full-time Department DPW-Operations Job Number 18-04451-01 Closing 11/30/2018 5:00 PM Pacific The Job The Department of Public Works, Environmental Management Division is recruiting for an Ecological Resource Specialist who is responsible for managing and conducting ecological and biological duties such as performing wildlife (including threatened and endangered species) surveys, performing biological assessments, report writing, preparation of ecological management plans, aide in capital improvement, routine maintenance, and restoration projects. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Background: Applicants must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment. Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance is required Licensing/Certification: Within 12 months of hire, the incumbent must apply for a Scientific Collecting Permit (SCP) from California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The SCP allows for scientific handling/collection of native and non-native species. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in the natural or environmental sciences. Experience: Two (2) years conducting and preparing biological assessments encompassing the identification of western birds, mammals, plants, and reptiles indigenous to the diverse regions of the Southwestern United States. Must have specific knowledge of wildlife indigenous to the County of San Bernardino and its surrounding regions.
