(OA3) MONROE CORRECTIONAL COMPLEX (MCC) FULL TIME NON-PERMANENT The
Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified
individual for the position of Office Assistant 3 at Monroe Correctional
Complex within the Health Services Division. The Monroe Correctional
Complex (MCC) is a 2400 bed male all-custody level facility located 30
miles northeast of Seattle. The complex consists of five major units;
the Washington State Reformatory Unit (WSRU), Special Offender Unit
(SOU), a large mental health inpatient treatment unit, Twin Rivers Unit
(TRU), Intensive Management Unit (IMU), and the Minimum Security Unit
(MSU). MCC provides care for the sickest and most complicated patients
in our system and is considered the hub of medical and psychiatric care
for DOC due to being located close to University of Washington and
Harborview Medical Center. The Department of Corrections (DOC), as a
partner in the criminal justice system, enhances public safety,
administers criminal sanctions and programs in accordance with the law
and provides leadership for the future of corrections in Washington

Duties This position provides general and clerical support to Monroe
Correctional Complex (MCC) within Health Services Department. The Office
Assistant 3 supports the efficient operations of the unit. Duties
include but are not limited to: * Ensure health records are accurately
filed and available for MCC-HSU staff. * Reviews patients' records for
completeness, accuracy, signatures. * Ensure there is sufficient blank
paperwork in the offender health record according to the Health
Information Management Protocols (HIMP). * Maintain consistency and
accessibility for records. * Controls and catalogs health records
ensuring security and confidentiality. * Supports staff using
specialized knowledge and judgment by researching health records whether
using the OMNI system or other facilities. * Managing incoming and
outgoing chain health records. * Breakdown and thinning of health
records, while maintaining loose filing of records. * Answers requests
from authorized personnel for information recorded in patient's records
in accordance with prescribed policies. * Pull health records for
providers/practioners appointments and review as needed. * Organize
daily workflow. * Participate in Health Services Continuous Quality
Improvement Program activities as appropriate. NOTE: * This position
will be assigned to work within the secure perimeters of the Monroe
Correctional Complex and will have contact with offenders. This work is
performed in a potentially hazardous setting with offenders who may have
behavioral, social, mental health and/or medical issues, and who may
exhibit non-compliant behavior toward staff and/or other offenders. *
This position requires primarily desk work and may include extensive
computer work for long periods of time with extended periods of sitting,
however it may also require extended periods of standing, stooping,
bending, lifting up to 40lbs or walking. Qualifications Required
Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND * One (1)
year of progressively responsible clerical/office experience that
includes keyboarding and typing. * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
software. Desired Qualifications: * Must be able to work independently
and in a team setting. * Experience working in a health service
environment and knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. *
Experience working with medical records in a health care setting *
Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize. * Uses positive and
professional interpersonal and communication skills. * Typing and Date
entry proficiency. * Experience in medical records. Supplemental
