PIHs mission is to provide low-income families affordable housing opportunities as they transition to self-sufficiency and homeownership. PIH oversees the administration of HUDs Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, Section 8 Rental Assistance, and Native American Programs through a staff of Headquarters and Field employees. The field structure for PIH consists of 29 Hub Offices and 16 Program Centers that provide oversight, direct monitoring, and coordination for approximately 4,200 public housing authorities. There are two vacancies for this position - one in Detroit, MI and one in Indianapolis, IN. Responsibilities The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13 . If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. * Review and analyze current and historic financial data; compare previous annual statements with recent financial information. * Serve as an asset manager for complex property portfolios for agency-owned and/or leased assets for region, acting as a liaison, advisor, and representative on sensitive and complex issues, and providing expert advisory assistance developing solutions to complex Property Management problems. * Utilize available computer equipment and data systems to maintain current PHA data, track PHA performance trends and compliance issues, and generate appropriate work products. * Conduct and Review Risk Analysis assessments with pertinent staff to assure a performance oriented approach to the correction of PHA problems. OR You may qualify by a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience. Only graduate education in excess of the first 2 years may be combined with experience. Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: * Assisting in performing a range of work in the oversight, management, or administration of the Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, or other HUD affordable housing programs; AND - Reviewing legal documents to ensure compliance with Federal, State, or local statutes and policies. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D.; in order to be qualifying, education must be in a related field. OR You may qualify by a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be combined with experience.
