Medical Administration Specialist (AOD) - Augusta, GA - Overview Summary Duties Incumbent must be able to rotate between irregular tours of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays List of major duties include, but are not limited to the following: - Serves as an Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD), providing administrative authority, guidance and advice necessary for operation of the medical center during irregular duty hours. - Provide guidance for clinical station administrative matters, and public relations. - Represent management in matters pertaining to the lawful retention of veterans in the VA Medical Center. - Maintain continuity of functions and provide full medical administrative support during other than normal tours of duty to clinical and administrative medical center staff. - Responsible for achieving management objectives and supporting the decisions of management in carrying out duties. - Coordinate resolutions of medical - legal, regulatory, and policy requirements problems. - Provides technical guidance necessary to meet procedural, legal, and administrative requirements relating to the care and treatment of patients, to achieve optimum use of available resources. Promotion Potential: This is the full performance level. Work Schedule: Irregular Tours - Incumbent must be able to rotate between different shifts as needed by the service line.
