Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Time-in-grade: Applicants who are/were current federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 level. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 level. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. GS-11: - Conducting professional interviews and case work to obtain essential information and assess competence - Evaluating the appointment and performance of fiduciaries - Using advanced investigative techniques including interrogations, document searches, and surveillance - Thorough knowledge of insurance or eligibility programs, Privacy Act or Freedom of Information Act - Such experience is to be substantive and relevant and may have been gained in Investigatory Positions, as a Social Worker, Attorney, or have performed other duties equivalent to the GS-9 level in the 1801 series. OR Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-09 or GS-11 level: GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related GS-11: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related. OR Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-09 and GS-11 levels. To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned. When substituting you can use graduate level education you have earned beyond a Bachelor's Degree. Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at both grade levels.
