Overview Summary As a Supervisory Veterans Service Representative
(Coach) you will serve as a supervisor of one of the teams located
within the Veterans Service Center. In this role, the Coach will direct
day-to-day activities of the team. Responsible for ensuring the team's
quality and timeliness of service meets performance indicator goals; and
the cost-effective use of resources to accomplish the team's assigned
outcomes. Duties - Plan and assign work priorities for subordinates,
usually a work team of approximately 15 to 25 administrative employees
ranging from GS-5 to GS-12 grade levels. - Exercise final technical
authority over the final work product. - Demonstrate expertise in all
phases of the claims rating activity that he/she directs and, as needed,
and develop ways to improve production or increase the quality of work.
- Develop standards, and evaluate subordinates' performance. - Interview
and make recommendations for position appointments, promotions, or
assignments. - Hear and resolve employee complaints, effect disciplinary
action, and identify training needs. - Ensure all Veterans' claims are
processed expeditiously as possible to provide the benefits sought by
the Veteran, family member, or survivor. - This includes every cycle of
the workload from start to finish, to include appeals and non-rating
benefits decisions. - Interpret and apply regulations, laws and rules as
they effect the establishment of new policies, procedures, and methods
of operation. - Gather and interpret a wide range of data addressing
service concerns and recommend appropriate action based on that data. -

promoted to the full performance level without further competition when
all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
