The incumbent in this position will also serve as a liaison between the adult education program, postsecondary education, and community service agencies to provide integrated education and training services (e.g. career assessments, job site development, mentoring, job coaching). - Conducts assessments and advises students on academic and career issues; identifies the educational and career options appropriate for each student and assists with the analysis of each option, including possible outcomes and their implications - Serves as a District liaison with area businesses, advisory groups, and agencies to encourage the furtherdevelopment of school-to-work opportunities - Provides training and support to staff members on the integration of the Career Awareness curricula and workplace skills; Develops transition materials and resources - Collaborates with instructional staff to track students progress for academic, career, and personal growth - Develops ways to link secondary and post-secondary education and new approaches to integrate business with all levels of education - Provides information to parents regarding service options - Engages in professional readings for current best practice - Maintains the flow of communication between agencies and central office - Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the students educational program - Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications - Uses technology to support instruction
