    Description & Requirements

    Maximus is currently looking for an IDD/SIS Assessor to join our team. The IDD/SIS Assessor will be responsible for conducting field IDD/SIS assessments as well as ensuring quality standards, supporting activities, and attending monthly assessor calls.

    This is a hybrid remote opportunity with 80% travel required; must live in one of the following counties in Maine: Portland, Cumberland, York. Oxford, Bath or Sagadahoc. Enjoy paid travel and mileage!

    Program Specific Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a human services, or related field, as dictated by the State contract
    • (1) year of direct experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and successful experience conducting assessments in the field
    • Ability to perform all job duties in compliance with Person First standards, HIPAA guidelines, and company confidentiality policies
    • Thorough understanding of diverse cultures and gender-specific issues with the ability to successfully incorporate the needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the assessment processes
    • Ability to multitask effectively while performing job duties, including ability to prioritize tasks and ensure all voice mail and email messages are returned within 24 business hours of receipt
    • Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to effectively present information to an audience
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally and collegially with referral sources (supports coordinators, SCO’s and provider agency staff), state contract officers, and coworkers
    • Intermediate skill with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and publishing software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint strongly preferred)
    • QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional) certification or similar, or ISP (Individual Support Plan) experience a plus Travel:
    • Paid Travel Time and Reimbursed Mileage!
    • The job requires extensive travel using personal motor vehicle
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required
    • Incumbent is responsible for submitting updated copies of driver’s license and vehicle insurance information as needed

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for completing medical and/or behavioral health assessments within contract requirements
    • Conducts on-site, video call and/or telephonic assessments to determine an individual’s needs for services and supports, eligibility, level of care or related outcome
    • Perform all job duties in compliance with Person First standards, HIPAA guidelines, and company confidentiality policies and procedures.
    • Travel may be required based on program contract requirements
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Preferred knowledge may include community support programs, long-term care assessment and level of care in medical, behavioral health or related programs
    • Knowledge and understanding of medical and/or behavioral health diagnoses and prescribed medications
    • Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work independently and meet timelines Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements:
    • Education and licensure requirements are based on program contract requirements and are outlined in job posting
    • High School Degree or equivalent required
    • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience required- LPN, RN, LCSW, or related licensure preferred and may be required based on contract requirements

    Pay Transparency

    Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
