Armed Security Officer - US Capitol Police This position performs a variety of security officer duties including, but not limited to patrolling, and investigating and reporting incidents. Location: Manassas, VA General Qualifications All personnel shall meet the general qualifications as outlined in the ISC Best Practices for Armed Security Officers in Federal Facilities: Specific Qualifications: Be a minimum of 21 years of age; Be a Citizen of the United States, a Lawful Permanent Resident, or an alien authorized to work in the United States; Been issued a Social Security Card by the Social Security Administration, which bears the individual's name and social security number; Possess a minimum of two years experience as an armed security or law enforcement officer or two years experience as a member of any U.S. Armed Forces Component; Possess at least a high school diploma, GED equivalent or a minimum of 60 credit hours, in a related field, from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or as identified on a DD Form 214; Graduate of a certified State or Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy or Military Police School; Associate's Degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field ; Be able to read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials; Be able to compose in the English language precise short paragraphs, written reports, traffic violation notices, and other reports as necessary; Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly and clearly communicate with co-workers and the general public; Possess a valid driver's license. Any conviction for driving under the influence with the last seven (7) years (at time of application) will disqualify the individual from employment under this contract. Starting Pay : $20.59 per hour after successful completion of academy training. Plus $4.95 per hour Health and Welfare Benefits. Academy Training will pay $7.25 per hour for the three (3) week period.
