JOB PURPOSE

The Estate Gardening Maintenance Tech is a hands-on position working year-round assisting the Senior Horticulturalist with an aspect of Grounds Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Mowing, Weeding, Mulching, Pruning & general grounds clean-up.

Attend and participate in staff safety and training meetings.

May be required to help with snow/ice removal in the winter months when necessary.  This may require overnight stays at the property during these events

Other duties as directed by Senior Horticulturalist.

Safe operation of the following equipment:

• Mowers (push, walk behind, and riding)
• Tillers and Aerators
• Edgers, String Trimmers, and Chain Saws
• Backpack blowers and Sprayers
• Hand tools such as: Shovels, Picks, Rakes, and Pruning Tools

Required Skills

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis Ability to work outside in all weather conditions Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks Must wear work boots, Bland landscaping uniforms present yourself in a clean and polite manner Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment Must have good communication skills and ability to work on a team Must comply with Bland''s policies and procedures Must be able to pass a criminal background check
