Public Health Emergency Planner Johnson County Kansas 16 reviews - Olathe, KS 66061 $22.96 - $34.44 an hour Johnson County Health & Environment department is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of a Public Health Emergency Planner. The position is located at 11875 S Sunset Drive, Suite 300, Olathe, KS 66061. Duties for this position will include: * Ensures response and support capability to County emergencies/disasters by developing written response procedures, protocols, and plans for JCDHE and Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) counties; maintains linkage with local, state, regional and national stakeholders and planning partners, communication, planning and direction relating to public health emergency preparedness in Johnson County and the five counties in the CRI Region ensuring response capability; meets grant requirements. * Assists with local public health agencies, state, regional and national agencies and planners for an annual Federal assessment of local health departments capabilities to respond to a large scale public health emergency; ensures regional and local emergency plans, protocols and procedures are written, in place, and revised per established guidelines; ensures compliance with KDHE and CDC guidelines. * Assists in the development, coordination, facilitation and execution of training, educational programming, exercising and evaluation of exercises in preparation for response in the event of a public health emergency. * Assists in coordinating and linking all CRI planning initiatives with Missouri, Kansas, and Kansas City metropolitan planning efforts. * Maintains established relationships; fosters and sustains relationships and agreements to access, integrate, and utilize community resources to implement for project directives; assists committees and local public health agencies in the preparation and update of regional emergency response and coordination plans. Job Requirements Required: Bachelor's degree in the following field(s): Public Health, Nursing, Sociology, a biological, physical or environmental science, Emergency Planning, Emergency Management, or other related field. Two year's experience in Public Health or related field that includes experience in emergency planning, response or management. A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record is also required. Preferred: Master's degree in the following field(s): Public Health, Nursing, Sociology, a biological, physical or environmental science, Emergency Planning, Emergency Management, or other related field. Three year's Public Health experience. Education may substitute for experience. Experience may substitute for education.
