Job Description
** About the Law Librarian and Library** : The Law Librarian is an integral part of the City Attorney’s Office, providing research services and training to support the legal work of attorneys and professional staff across all practice teams. The position manages all aspects of the library’s administrative work including prioritizing resources within the budget, managing the budget, acquisitions, serials control, collection maintenance, contract negotiations, and invoice processing. The library has physical resources in the Office’s work spaces in both San Francisco City Hall and Fox Plaza.

_ Selection Procedures_
The selection process will include evaluation of applications in relation to minimum requirements. Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement to the interview. Depending on the number of applicants, the Department may establish and implement additional screening mechanisms to comparatively evaluate the qualifications of candidates. If this becomes necessary, only those applicants whose qualifications most closely meet the needs of the Department will be invited to participate in the oral/performance interview.

The position has a 5-step salary scale ranging from $123,058 to $149,500. The successful applicant is appointed to a salary step based on years of experience and additional relevant degrees, certifications, credentials or skills.
