The Los Angeles County Office of Education and the Community Health and Safe Schools (CHSS) unit invites qualified candidates that are bilingual in oral and written Spanish and translating from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English to apply for Program Activities Specialist. This Program Activities Specialist will be responsible for leading the implementation and monitoring of a health education and tobacco prevention program within a diverse community, including outreach to both students and families in a bilingual setting. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Two years of experience in the coordination and implementation of student oriented public or social service-related programs and/or projects. Equivalency Provision: A Bachelor's degree with major coursework in social sciences, education, child development, health science, public health or a field related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for one year of required experience. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Additional Requirements: Positions in this classification require passing a test of bilingual proficiency in oral and written Spanish and translating from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English. A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites.
