    Court Operations Representative Salary $12.75 - $20.70 Hourly Location Phoenix, AZ Job Type Unclassified/Full-Time Department Clerk of the Superior Court Job Number 160CRTOPREP122018 Closing 1/2/2019 11:59 PM Arizona Position Overview The Court Operations Representative assists the Clerk of the Superior Court in providing the public, legal community, courts, County, and other governmental agencies access to the judicial system and related public records to so that they can pursue legal processes and/or obtain and maintain legal and financial records and information. Position Qualifications Minimum education and/or experience: High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of clerical/administrative experience. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of: Appropriate business writing to perform job duties. The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar. Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Word and Outlook, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology. Or the ability to learn, organizational policies and procedures. Skilled in: Managing one's time. Ability to: Concentrate on a task without getting distracted. Type at a speed in order to perform the essential job functions is a timely manner. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Speak clearly, concisely and in an organized manner, which includes using the proper pace, volume and grammar; ability to verbally transmit accurate information and facts using the proper level of detail to ensure understanding by others. Preferred education and/or experience: Experience performing clerical job duties in a court related environment. Experience performing cash handling duties. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills. Working conditions: Mostly office setting performing repetitive clerical tasks. Requires long periods of sitting while completing manual clerical tasks and computer activities. Ability to lift, floor to waist and waist to shoulders; carry; push; or pull up to 25 pounds for a distance of 30 feet. Ability to walk .5 mile. Essential Job Tasks Provides routine data entry functions on various databases. Maintains records and files; sorts and merges documents by type, year and case numbers; prepares documents for scanning and reassembles same after scanning. Prepares copies for delivery to internal and external agencies. Receives records, releases and maintains court exhibits, confidential items, transcripts and depositions; requests records and files from other departments. Completes various reports; processes various orders from the Court. Provides customer service to internal and external customers, governmental agencies, and the general public. Responds to public correspondence and requests. Issues marriage licenses and passports; responds to telephone inquiries; performs research on various case files; certifies, exemplifies and authenticates documents, etc. Distributes payments and releases funds on hold; receives and processes various payments made to the Court. Prepares Wage Assignment information; processes Orders of Assignment per established policy; prepares direct deposit accounts; completes child support calculations; and reviews payment histories. Selection Procedure The hiring authority will select the successful candidate based on departmental needs. All offers of employment made to new hires and rehires at Maricopa County are contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment thorough background investigation. Basic life and basic accidental death & dismemberment insurance equivalent to one times an employee's annual base salary is provided at no cost, with the option for employees to purchase additional coverage including spouse and child life insurance. Disability insurance is available to replace a portion of an employee's salary should they experience a short-term illness or injury. Retirement Eligible employees are covered by one of several State-sponsored retirement pension plans, including the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) and the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS). Additionally, there's the option to contribute to a 457(b) Savings Plan that provides employees with a variety of investment opportunities. For those employees who retire from the County and from their retirement system, and have accrued 1,000 or more hours of sick leave, the County makes a $10,000 contribution to a Post-Employment Health Plan set up on their behalf to be used for payment of eligible out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.
