    Specialist - Policy & Procedures/Technical Writer Job Locations US-TX-Austin Posted Date 7 days ago (12/21/2018 4:14 PM) Requisition ID 2018-36647 # of Openings 2 Job Schedule Regular Full-Time Responsibilities The Policy and Procedure Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining all policy and procedure documents consistent with all applicable program guidelines. The Policy and Procedure Specialist must be able to work remotely, from a home office/work environment (Austin, TX) Job description: Develops, documents and maintains an effective set of policy and procedures that are consistent with program guidelines Manages policies and procedures for EB Operations Communicates regularly and effectively with internal clients and internal change management staff Communicates with management and staff to determine appropriate policy and procedure standard requirements Updates and maintains knowledge management system Communicates with Business and Systems Analysts to review system changes and performs analysis on how these changes will impact policy procedures Maintains a working knowledge of policies and procedures for all business areas Assists with staff training, as needed for the purpose of achieving and maintaining quality program goals Communicates with a variety of stakeholders, business partners, and staff to answer individual policy questions and provide guidance on the interpretation Attends meetings, in person and by conference call, and provides policy and project updates on a regular basis Analyzes effectiveness of key initiatives and quality improvement efforts Works remotely but reports to the central office on a bi-weekly basis and otherwise as needed Performs other duties as assigned by management Requirements: Bachelors degree from accredited college/university or equivalent experience At least three years of experience in Business Writing, Journalism, or Technical Writing Experience with MS Office programs, including Word, Excel and Access Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate and build relationships with limited face-to-face interaction Excellent public speaking and presentation skills Understanding of systems and systems development methodologies Understanding of standard quality methodologies and principles Experience in working directly or indirectly with operations/customer service teams Experience with quality monitoring in a customer service environment Continuous improvement experience, including working with corrective and preventative action programs Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment Ability to manage time effectively, with limited oversight; demonstrates self-motivation, focus, and high levels of accountability Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently Must be able to manage competing priorities effectively; Multi-task Must be able to understand, organize, compile, and incorporate feedback in a timely manner Must be able to quickly prioritize/re-prioritize projects, as needed Must have 98% QC and CS for the last 3 months No more than 24 accumulated attendance points in the last 3 months No disciplinary higher than a verbal counsel in the last 3 months The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience. May have additional training or education in area of specialization. Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope & complexity. General application of concepts & principles. Contributes to the completion of organizational projects & goals. Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. Applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Communicates on complex or sensitive issues or drafts such responses for supervisor or manager.
