Internships are provided for students with a desire to work in the international development field and/or public sector and assignments are designed to complement the intern's educational pursuits while meeting the expressed needs of the agency and individual MCC departments. Internships may be extended. -Responsibilities Candidates will have an opportunity to assist in a wide range of duties to help increase public awareness of MCC's mission, goals, and accomplishments, and will contribute to communicating MCC's innovative model of aid effectiveness to targeted audiences in the United States and overseas. Opportunities are available in the following area: Public Affairs, Press, and Congressional Affairs and External Engagement. Public Affairs Intern: Assist in production of MCC materials for public distribution, assist in coordination of agency public events, and interagency collaboration. Capable of writing and editing public materials and web copy. WordPress skills, Adobe Creative Cloud production applications such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and video production highly desirable. Other duties as assigned. Press Intern: Prepare media and communications materials including press advisories and releases, media briefers, responses to media inquiries, if-asked press questions and answers, and basic talking points, draft engaging content for social media, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, create press lists and draft media pitches, support the preparation and execution for press conferences, interviews and other activities, support collection and internal dissemination of daily news clips, general media monitoring as directed around topics of importance, create timely analytics reports for press activities, other duties as assigned Congressional Affairs and Engagement Interns: Developing and staffing outreach events with leaders in the development field, perform research projects in the areas of international development, women's economic development, and the private sector, attending hearings and events on the hill and around DC and provide a comprehensive readout to the CPA team, prepare briefing materials for senior level staff who are participating in high level meetings, going on official travel, or attending events, track and answer emails in a professional manner, shepherd assigned projects when needed. Other duties as assigned.
